3T RIGIDA TEAM FORK UD carbon 2012
The new 3T RIGIDA fork has not only a new design but it is extremely lightwight but totally stiff and excessively strong due to the carbon material that 3T used for this model. The 3T RIGIDA carbon Fork is an excellent newely shaped fork that matches well with the other 3T products such as the ERGONOVA TEAM bars. One thing that you'll notice on this FORK is the fact that it features full carbon drop outs giving you an idea as to the quality of the carbon that 3T uses on not only this fork but on their other Carbon items. The 3T RIGIDA fork is very stiff giving you unmatcheable control up in the front end of your bike which is essential when cornering and competeing. Nothing quite like the feel of your bike responding properly due directly to the stiffness of your fork. Another reason the fork is so stiff is the material. The RIGIDA FORK is the fork used on the FOCUS IZALCO of 2012.
RIGIDA is a lightweight, all-carbon fiber fork for race and sports bikes that shares the DNA of 3T's all-conquering FUNDA range. RIGIDA has a simplified fork-blade section compared to FUNDA. It is less aerodynamic, but has even greater lateral rigidity. RIGIDA's oval-section fork-blades taper to narrower ends than FUNDA's aerofoil blades, making the fork's appearance more conventional. RIGIDA TEAM is finished in Gloss Black, with red pinstripes and the 3T logo at the shoulders in white. Choice of tapered steerers for fitment to the latest-generation carbon-fiber framesets.
New for 2012: Stealth RIGIDA, in two-tone black, to match new frameset finishes
Funda Wheel Clearance guide also applies to RIGIDA and helps determine which tires you can fit.
It's taken a while. The aerospace industry pioneered composite design and manufacture as long ago as the 1970s. Soon, sports-car builders started to experiment with it. In 1981 McLaren became the first F1 team to race an all-composite race car chassis. The first composite monocoque cycle frame appeared 5 years later.
Now, composite material – carbon fiber – has displaced steel and aluminum for most race bikes.
