This new mountain tire from Continental for 2012 is handmade in Germany with Continental's newest technologies to make it a durable master of the downhill slopes. Der Kaiser's Black Chili compound makes the tread extra sticky, enabling it to conquer terrains that other tires cannot. The sidewalls of this tire have Apex added to them, stiffening the walls and stabilizing the tire. Additionally, the tread has a dual-ply DH casing that will be sure to give this tire a long life. Available in black in size 26" X 2.5.

Whats the big deal about Black Chili? Black Chili is the name for our latest tyre compound which hit the market in 2007 and has fast become a hit with cyclists across the world who have marvelled at its performance beneifits. The fact is that Black Chili will improve our tires' performance in all areas. We can even make a tyre to last longer, yet also grip better and roll faster! The figures are astounding; 26% lower rolling resistance, 30% higher grip, and even 5% longer mileage.
The sidewall of freeride and downhill tires is subjected to extraordinarily high loads. A rubber profile between the carcass layers ensures stability. The Apex sits on the tire core and reinforces the sides of the tire.
The tire does not impact on the rim during rough rides over rocky ground. Thetire stays upright better when riding around bends. It does not bend over the sides of the rim when subjected to transverse loads, and always stays true to the course.
