DT SWISS TRICON XM 1550 Tubeless 29" Front Wheel 9mm 2012

Our engineers have put all their wheelbuilding experience into the developement of the TRICON® wheelsystem. All components have been optimized several times and fine tuned one to another for the best possible stiffness to weight ratio.

TRICON® wheels are tubeless compatible and variable in rotor and axle configuration due to the star ratchet system. And of course their looks match their performance.

Not only does the XM 1550 TRICON® look fast, it also combines XC weight with trail riding strength. The meticulously perfected components mean zero compromise for pure riding enjoyment.

The XM 1550 is made with the DT Swiss thru bolt, which is compatible with quick release standards. Instead of a thin 5mm shaft, this wheel has a 9mm alloy bolt, increasing the stability of the connection. Especially useful on mountain bikes with disc brakes.

Welded with SBWT (strength boost welding technology) for seamless welding and the best possible rim joints. The spokes are improved on this years' model by adding DT Swiss's unique coldforged double butted spokes that are thinner in the center for better strength to weight performance and improved elasticity. Only the coldforging process can assure the highest mechanical quality. Bladed spokes are more aerodynamic than regularly shaped spokes, reducing air drag and boosting performance.

This Tricon cross mountain wheel has DT Swiss's patented Prolock liquid injection in the nipple thread for added durability. The RWS hub featured on this wheel is DT Swiss's patented wheelmounting system that is stiffer, safer, and more user friendly than quick release wheels. 100% disc brake compatible. Also has the Center Lock rotor mounting system from Shimano.
