The ceramic cartridge bearings are positively the best quality bearings you can find for your bike. Their rolling resistance is significantly lower than steel bearings and the ceramic bearings are lighter and stiffer as well. The ceramic balls are extremely hard and are sealed in stainless steel races. DT Swiss has paired with Shimano to develop their Center Lock rotor mounting system for the satisfaction of an absolutely secure and safe connection. The RWS hub is another DT Swiss invention, making the wheel 100% disc brake compatible while also stiffening (and safening) the wheel. This wheelmounting system is more user-friendly than other quick releases. 

The spokes are improved on this years' model by adding DT Swiss's unique coldforged double butted spokes that are thinner in the center for better strength to weight performance and improved elasticity. Only the coldforging process can assure the highest mechanical quality. Bladed spokes are more aerodynamic than regularly shaped spokes, reducing air drag and boosting performance.

This carbon racing wheel also has DT Swiss's patented Prolock liquid injection in the nipple thread for added durability. The DT Swiss ratchet system uses precise star ratchets in a freehub system for an extremely high load capacity and reliability. No tools are required for routine maintenance.
