The Litespeed C3 for 2012 can be referenced to as the "AIRWOLF" of bike because it is so stealthy. Its AERO design ensures that you will be cutting through the wind and given an advantage over your competator. The cables are externally routed on the C3 ARCHON while the C1 has internal routing. The C3 is a 30 ton carbon as the C1 is 40 ton. The C3 is an excellent stiff aero ride with an extremely attractive paint job for 2012. It also comes compatible with the DI2 group by Shimano. The BB30 bottom bracket is currently the leading BB design on the market ensuring a stiff and speedy pedal response and quicker power transfer.

The Litespeed 2012 C3 frameset is the more affordable version of the C1. Litespeed uses the same mold as the C1 so the wind-cheating tube shapes are retained. The 2012 C3 has external brake and derailleur cable routing but Di2 shifting cables can be internally routed. This 2012 model has a Di2 battery mount located discreetly under the left chainstay. Weight is approximately 185 grams more than the C1 due to the use of thicker layers of 30T carbon fiber versus the 60T carbon employed on the C1R.

The aero shrouded water bottle mounting on the downtube significantly reduces aerodynamic drag. Other aero road frames have aero downtubes but attaching a water bottle creates a major area of turbulence. Litespeed cleverly tucks the bottle mount into the downtube reducing turbulence and drag upwards of 50% over the competition.

Other AeroLogic features include an aero headtube, downtube and seat tube. A rear wheel cutout, aero bottom bracket, seatpost and sleek seat stays improve air flow.

The new Litespeed Archon C1R is not another 'carbon copy' carbon fiber road bike. It is something unique that begs to be heard above the din of high-end carbon fiber road frames. Our designers did strong benchmarking when they designed the new Litespeed Archon C1R. They were thinking about the other bikes in the crowded $5000+ super-bike category. They were thinking about how to differentiate this bike from others in that category and provide something tangibly unique from those offerings, and at a better value. We succeeded in producing something tangibly different that exceeded even our expectations.

The Technical Details: What Makes the Archon C1R Different
The Litespeed Archon C1R is a bike of details. Beginning at the head tube, the bike uses a 1 1/2"
oversized diameter lower bearing race for the headset and a 1 1/8" upper race. The oversized lower race distributes bearing load and improves front end stiffness by making the bottom of the head tube/fork crown interface wider and improves ride quality by disbursing road shock over a wider area at the lower headset/fork race.
